Description: Come learn how Mirion Specialty Detectors are at the forefront of enabling fundamental nuclear physics research. High-purity germanium (HPGe) instruments such as GRETA (Gamma-Ray Energy Tracking Array), AGATA (Advanced GAmma Tracking Array) and Clover detectors provide unprecedented performance and precision in complex settings by leverage detector segmentation for 3D position sensitivity and high efficiency, thus enabling complex studies of atomic nuclei and their reactions.
Custom-designed detectors further push boundaries in niche applications, addressing unique challenges such as compact form factors for portable systems, ultra-low background detection for rare-event searches, and adaptive designs for integration into existing experimental setups. In addition, an overview highlighting Mirion contributions to nuclear physics and the role of our products enabling groundbreaking discoveries in the field will be discussed.

Description: In this session we will discuss technical advancements, tools, and real-life applications of technology including AI, to improve non-destructive analysis. We will cover NeRF methodology (Neural Radiance Field), a deep-learning method of reconstructing three-dimensional representations from two-dimensional images, and the advantages it can provide; coupling X-ray Tomography with NDA data; the first-of-a-kind LINAS (Large Item Neutron Assay System) technology; SUPERISOCS modeling of complex scenarios; and other advancements. We will also discuss Figure of Merit (FOM) applications, approved by the U.S. DOE and EPA, that can be used to verify the data from these technologies. We will introduce various technology innovations developed as a result of collaborations and partnerships we have been engaged in with industry and academia.
